The IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 series of events is one of the largest participation sports platforms in the world, with more than 150 qualifying races held in more than 50 countries, regions, and territories, including Oceanside. Athletes competing in the North American TriClub Championship-Southwest (the event is sponsored by the Oceanside Sports Commission) tackle a 1.2 mile swim in the Pacific Ocean, a 56 mile bike loop through Camp Pendleton, and a 13.1 mile run through the streets and neighborhoods of O’side.
